Director of Schools Dr. Danny Weeks announced that Andrea Beaubien has been named interim assistant principal at Dickson Elementary School. Beaubien fills the vacancy created when Dr. Anna Ogburn left at the end of October to become a Career Technical Education consultant for Business, Marketing and Finance curriculum with the Tennessee Department of Education. Beaubien’s appointment is for the remainder of the school year. A Dickson County native and graduate of Dickson County High School, Beaubien earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Lipscomb University and her Master of Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. She has been serving as a Title I interventionist at Centennial Elementary School and her teaching career includes third grade at Goodpasture Christian School, first grade at Centennial and sixth, seventh and eighth grades at William James Middle School. She is married to Brad Beaubien, a biology and physics teacher at Dickson County High School, and they have two children: Grey, a sixth grader at Dickson Middle School, and Mia, a fourth grader at Centennial. The daughter of Bob and Sherry Spencer, Beaubien is active in her church, enjoys watching her children participate in sports and other activities, reading and spending time outside. She says she is looking forward to this new opportunity to serve the students of Dickson County and specifically the students at Dickson Elementary School. She says she is looking forward to the challenges and work associated with the appointment as assistant principal. Beaubien joins Mandy Roche as administrators at the 285-student school. After six year as assistant principal Roche was named principal in May 2014 following the retirement of Eve Larkins, with Ogburn appointed to fill her former position.
